Positives

1.  Biggest positive for me personally is how great I feel the next day.  I think there really is something to the serotonin boosting building blocks of this supplement because I definitely notice something.  I suspect it isn’t just from the serotonin precursors, I think it’s the combination of them along with the amazing relaxation promoting herbs which really allow me to de-stress and fall asleep easily.

2.  Another positive is there is no morning “hangover” that you get with a lot of other sleep aids.  That’s a big one for me because I’ve tried some other ones that end up leaving me feeling lethargic almost all day long, and I have to drink a lot of coffee to counteract it.

3.  All natural ingredients.

Negatives

1. One possible negative is that it isn’t organic.  That’s not really a big deal for me, I’m more concerned about the actual ingredients a sleep aid contains and whether or not it’s addictive.  The ingredients in New Mood are all natural, non-GMO and non-addictive, so that’s good.

2.  Another potential negative is a smaller percentage of the population might actually have the opposite reaction, due to the Valerian root.  Instead of feeling calm and relaxed, they might feel super alert and wired.  It’s known that Valerian can have this effect on some people.

Tip #1:  Take 2 capsules around 1 – 2 hours before going to bed.  Do NOT sit in front of your computer or tablet for an hour or so before going to bed.  I’ve noticed that this simple activity will counteract the effects of this supplement.  The light emitted from your computer screen messes with your brain and makes it think it’s daytime still.  Seriously, turn of the electronics at least an hour before turning in.  Makes a HUGE difference.

Tip #2:  Evidently New Mood works even better in combination with their nootropic Alpha Brain.  I haven’t tried Alpha Brain yet, but I will very soon.  It looks very interesting.
